The most important resources required to undergo the procedure of this industry is have people, places and things. Filmmakers, actors and technicians hail from the city and have been visiting it for shoots like never before.
They believe that it only makes sense for Delhi to have it’s own film industry established.
Following are the names of Filmmakers with such belief to name a few
· Imtiaz Ali - He shot his films Socha Na Tha, Rockstar and Love Aaj Kal in Delhi
· Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra - He shot his films Rang De Basanti, Delhi 6 and currently underproduction film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag in the Capital
· Dibakar Banerjee - He shot Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! and Khosla Ka Ghosla in Delhi
Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia rightly pointed out by saying "I think Delhi should have its own film industry. Mumbai is not even located in a Hindi-speaking state, and still we make films there, so why not here?”
Mumbai has lost its charm and fails to excite or inspire filmmakers. Delhi is one of the fastest growing cities in the world, and well Mumbai is unfortunately is a dying city whose stories are getting old and stale.
One can easily trace the chaos in Mumbai today, and progress is happening at a snail’s pace.”
We all can agree as filmmaker Shoojit Sircar feels that Mumbai has been over-utilised in films. “From a location point of view, I feel that Mumbai has been over-exposed. There’s only so much one can do from a filmmaker’s point of view. If I have a choice to pick a place to set a story, then I’ll definitely pick Delhi over Mumbai.”
Pumpkin rests it's case on the note that future is definitely Delhi.
